Bradford Police arrested a man from Lowell they say was armed with a 16-inch knife while trying to force his way into the Valley Vista Rehab Center. Paul Sileski, 63, was taken into custody on Tuesday morning without incident, according to Sgt. David Shaffer, after police responded to the facility about 8 a.m. because it was reported there was an “out-of-control male with a knife” there. When police got there, Sileski was in a vehicle parked outside the facility. The police investigation determined Sileski had “a 16” long ornamental knife and attempted to smash his way through the waiting room door in order to force entry into the facility.” According to Sgt. Shaffer, Sileski said he went to Valley Vista to “’save’ several residents.” The police report notes that Sileski tried to force entry through doors and windows. He is expected to face charges of felony unlawful trespass, felony unlawful mischief, disorderly conduct, and criminal threatening in Orange Superior Court on March 8. Sileski, who is on probation with Vermont Department of Corrections, was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Center in St. Johnsbury on a probation violation.
