 Police say one person is dead after a shooting in Woodstock yesterday afternoon, and a manhunt is underway for the suspect. Police are looking for Jay Wilson, 45, of Woodstock. Investigators confirmed that one person is dead, but they did not identify the person or release details about what led to the death. Vermont State Police were called to 13 Slayton Terrace at about 1:20 p.m. for reports of a shooting there. They say someone shot at the first officer on the scene and the officer returned fire. The officer was not injured and police do not know whether the shooting suspect was injured. Police advised people who live near there to lock their doors and shelter in place. They asked the public to avoid the area. Slayton Terrace is a residential neighborhood just off Route 4 outside of downtown Woodstock.
