Vermont State Police say classes were canceled at Orleans Elementary School in Orleans on Tuesday following an alleged threat made by a student. Tpr. Ian Alford, in a press release, said police were contacted by school staff about the threat and responded by coordinating with school officials and community resources and identifying and speaking to the parties involved. Police say that as a result of the investigation, the school decided to cancel classes on Tuesday and modify operations on Wednesday. Parents and community members saw an increased police presence at the school on Wednesday. The investigation remains ongoing and police say no further information is available due to the age of the individual involved.
