Pennsylvania man arrested on a charge of killing his grandmother

After waiving arraignment last week, a Pennsylvania man arrested on a charge of killing his grandmother with a hammer inside of her Easton home on Sept. 28 waived a probable cause hearing scheduled for Wednesday at Littleton District Court.  After an agreement by the prosecution and defense, Joshua Lanchester, 23, remains in the Grafton County House of Corrections without bail and on preventative detention for a special felony count of second-degree murder by “recklessly” causing the death of Cynthia Jean Lanchester, 76, “under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life, by striking her in the head with a hammer, a deadly weapon.”
