State police reported that a large response to a potential threat to the building on Friday morning at Northeast Kingdom Human Services prevented anything serious from happening at the Portland Street facility. Responders included the State Police, St. Johnsbury Fire Department and Calex Ambulance. Three fire engines, an ambulance and other emergency equipment were parked about a quarter mile from the entrance to Human Services, located Fairbanks Scales. State Police entered the building and cleared it, and determined that no threat to the building or staff was present.
