Stuck Tractor-Trailer Blocks Traffic for Hours in St. Johnsbury

A tractor-trailer unit stuck in the snow in front of the Kingdom Animal Shelter on Portland Street Tuesday morning stalled traffic in both directions for over two hours. , Mark Dority, of Sicklerville, N.J., was driving for Real Trucking, and tried to turn the rig around at the Kingdom Animal Shelter parking lot and got the back wheels of the truck stuck in a snow-covered shallow ditch near the driveway. The lengthy traffic stoppage was due to the time it took for a heavy truck towing vehicle to become available. A tow truck and driver from B&B Towing and Recovery, of Lyndonville, arrived a few minutes before 10 a.m. to free the tractor trailer unit.
