Two people were arrested early Sunday morning following a domestic dispute

Two people were arrested early Sunday morning following a domestic dispute that reportedly escalated into gunfire inside a Lyndonville residence. Troopers responded to a 911 call at a home on Eastern Avenue at approximately 1:46 a.m. and determined that Kyleigh Phelps, 33, and Jacob Mallet, 30, had been involved in a physical altercation. During the dispute, police said a firearm was discharged multiple times inside the residence. No one was struck by the gunfire. Both Phelps and Mallet were taken into custody and processed at the St. Johnsbury barracks before being lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility. Phelps was charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment. She was ordered held without bail. Mallet was charged with domestic assault and was held on $2,000 bail. Both are scheduled to appear today in Caledonia County Superior Court to face the charges.
