Traveling Nurse From Florida Charged With Drug Crimes At NEK Care Facility

A traveling nurse whose home is in Titusville, FL, is accused of committing drug crimes while serving at a long-term care facility in Glover.

Anneka Brooks, 46, was arraigned Tuesday in Orleans Superior Court on two felony counts of fraud or deceit involving a regulated drug. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office of Professional Regulation (OPR) and the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud and Residential Abuse Unit (MFRAU).

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Brooks was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Union House Nursing Home, a long-term care facility in Glover, Vermont. On Nov. 8, 2025, Brooks is alleged to have fraudulently obtained Oxycodone, a controlled substance, intended for administration to medical patients, for her own personal use.

Brooks, currently residing in Florida, pleaded not guilty by remote appearance. Judge Michael Harris ordered Brooks be released on conditions, including that she attend future hearings and that she provide fingerprints.

Brooks’ license as a Licensed Practice Nurse was suspended by OPR pursuant to a stipulation and consent order on Aug. 11, 2026.
