Vermont State Police reported that a man from Lowell was killed on Thursday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving rolled over and he was thrown from the vehicle. Shayne Bessette, 52, was not wearing a seat belt, noted Sgt. Thomas Howard, when the 2003 Ford Ranger Bessette was driving on Hazen Notch Road left the roadway and rolled over. It was about 2:40 p.m. when emergency crews were alerted to the crash. The Ranger was traveling east when Bessette lost control of the vehicle and it entered into the westbound shoulder where it rolled over “coming to a position of uncontrolled rest approximately 50 feet from the roadway,” Sgt. Howard wrote. State police wish to speak to anyone with information about the crash. “ Call 802-878-7111 with any information related to the crash.
