A Brattleboro man on Monday pleaded not guilty
A Brattleboro man on Monday pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after police say he stabbed his father multiple times. It’s another case where an adult child in Vermont is accused of violence against a parent. This is now at least the fourth time since September that police have said a child tried to kill or killed one or both of their parents since September. Police in Brattleboro say they responded to the stabbing on Oak Street on Sunday. Alexander Meima, 21, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after police say he stabbed his father multiple times in the head, shoulder, arm and face with a large kitchen knife. Court paperwork shows the victim, Ralph Meima, told police he knew his son had mental health concerns and had spoken about homicidal thoughts and wrote about them in a journal that was shared with a specialist. The father received multiple staples and stitches for his injuries. His son is being held without bail.
