A local man driving south on Interstate 91 tested positive for six different drugs in his system. Travis Blake, 36, of Barton, pleaded not guilty to a charge of DUI#1 – drug or both and was released on personal recognizance by Judge Justin Jiron. State Trooper Anthony Rice was sitting in his cruiser on Aug. 17 at a U-Turn on Interstate 91 in Coventry when another driver pulled in and told Tpr. Rice there was a southbound white truck with a latter rack on the back that was driving all over the roadway and almost ran into him. Tpr. Rice then went looking for the truck and located it parked in a rest area along the highway. “On Aug. 31, Blake’s blood results from the Vermont Forensic Lab reported his blood contained Fentanyl, Methadone, Cocaine and other drugs. Blake faces a possible sentence on all of his charges of 34 years in prison and over $23,000 in fines.
