A motorcycle crash that injured a Vermont man closed Route 2A in Colchester late Friday afternoon. It happened near Birchwood Drive. Police say Scott Blaise, 53, of New Haven, was driving his motorcycle toward Essex when he crossed into the other lane and was hit by an oncoming truck. Blaise was rushed to the UVM Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. Colchester police say the initial investigation shows speed may have been a factor in the crash. They say Blaise’s license is suspended for life in Vermont due to prior convictions and his motorcycle registration was expired. The road was closed in both directions from Birchwood Drive to East Road as police investigated.
