An arrest warrant has been issued for the owner of a dog
An arrest warrant has been issued for the owner of a dog that jumped from a moving pickup and was fatally struck by a car last month. Police say Ace, a five-year-old German shepherd, jumped out of the bed of the truck on I-89 in Hartford on November 31 during holiday rush hour traffic. Witnesses rushed the dog to a Lebanon clinic but he later died of his injuries. When police caught up with the owner, Adam Howard, 33, of Leicester, North Carolina, he told them he didn’t realize Ace had slipped out of his collar and jumped out. Police issued an arrest warrant after Howard didn’t show up for court Tuesday to face charges of animal cruelty.
