Burglar broke into two Railroad Street businesses

On Monday night, a burglar broke into two Railroad Street businesses, smashing through the front doors. St. Johnsbury Police believe that the same person targeted Champlain Farms and Boxcar & Caboose Bookstore & Café. In both cases, access was gained by breaking through the glass of the front doors with a cinder block.  Once inside the Boxcar, the burglar pried open a cash register drawer and stole cash. At Champlain Farms, the burglar stole four cartons of Marlboro cigarettes, each worth $110. Video surveillance footage at Champlain Farms showed a male entering the store at 12:39 a.m. on Tuesday.
