Multiple people were arrested
Multiple people, including the wife of a man accused of shooting police Capt. Jason Gray, were arrested on Friday for crimes related to the shooting and an effort to conceal the man from a massive police search. Jonathan Russell, 45, Tisa Russell, 45, William Drew, 44, and Patrice Mason, 36, were all taken into custody on Friday afternoon. It comes five weeks after the date in December when Scott Mason, 38, allegedly shot Capt. Gray in the Portland Street apartment building next door. Despite rapid and significant police response to the scene, Scott Mason was not found and an around-the-clock manhunt for him began. It wasn’t until the night of Dec. 14, about 30 hours after the shooting, that Mason’s location was confirmed. State police had contact with Patrice Mason multiple times between the shooting and the moment they found her in the same building as her husband. Accessory charges after the fact are filed against the Russells and Drew. Patrice Mason is facing charges of aiding in the commission of a felony and negligent storage of a firearm. Jonathan Russell is being held in the Northeast Correctional Complex on $1,000 bail. Patrice Mason is being held in jail on $10,000 bail.
