Newport Police reported the arrest of a Charleston man

Newport Police reported the arrest of a Charleston man wanted for the theft of a vehicle in Newport City. Harold Nadeau Jr., age 48, was arrested in Littleton, N.H. on Wednesday, without incident. A gray Ford 250 truck was reported stolen in the area of 199 Coventry Street on Nov. 7. At the time it was stolen, the truck had an estimated $5,000 worth of tools inside it and also had a brand-new fuel tank. The vehicle’s information was shared across police agencies. On Nov. 7, police reported that it had been seen in Bethlehem, N.H. Police determined that Nadeau was the suspect in the crime and learned that he had been released from jail earlier that day. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Wednesday, Littleton police said they had Nadeau. He is being held in New Hampshire on $25,000 bail. He faces charges of aggravated motor vehicle operation without the owners consent, grand larceny and operation of a vehicle after suspension or revocation of license.
