Passerby contacted the Grafton County Dispatch Center to report

 At approximately 8:20 Thursday morning, a passerby contacted the Grafton County Dispatch Center to report that Brandon Lackie, 26, of Groton, Vt., was in the area behind Woodsville Elementary School, near the Rail Trail. Lackie was wanted in Vermont on multiple charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and multiple violations of conditions of release. He was also alleged to be in possession of a firearm. In addition, Lackie faced two failure-to-appear warrants in Grafton County Superior Court, both no-bail warrants. Vermont State Police had been searching for Lackie since Monday evening, when he allegedly stabbed John Faucette, 39, of Groton, multiple times in the back during an incident at a residence on Tinkham Road in Groton.  Lackie fled the scene in Faucette’s truck. New Hampshire State Police, coordinated a swift operation to apprehend Lackie. He was located on the Rail Trail near Ocean State Job Lot on Central Street, a short distance from Woodsville Elementary School. Lackie is currently being held at the Grafton County Correctional Facility and is awaiting arraignment.
