 Police say a child drowned in a Vermont lake on Friday. It happened in North Bennington at Lake Paran. (Pah-RAN) Bennington police say at about noon, they got a report of a child who was last seen at about 10:30 a.m. near the water. Rescue crews rushed to the lake and found the 9-year-old unresponsive under the water. They immediately started lifesaving measures, but the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. They did not release the child’s name.
