Authorities are looking for two people who they say injured an Essex police officer

Authorities are looking for two people who they say injured an Essex police officer early Monday morning. Essex police say the officer was investigating possible drug activity in a parking lot at Susan’s Place, a housing complex off Susie Wilson Road. When officers arrived, police say they tried to detain a man and woman, later identified as Mark Sutton Jr., 24, of Williamstown, and Jasmine Brown, 21, of Randolph. Police say both resisted arrest.  Sutton aggressively pulled away and Brown kicked the officer in the groin. Police say Sutton then pinned the officer with his car as he fled the scene. Brown also escaped on foot. Police say the officer suffered only minor injuries to his arms. Investigators say Sutton has an extensive rap sheet and now faces additional charges of assaulting an officer.
