A multi-agency investigation is underway after an 18-month-old was found unresponsive

A multi-agency investigation is underway after an 18-month-old was found unresponsive and not breathing in a Milton parking lot on Wednesday. According to Milton Police, the child was located at a business on Centre Drive. Milton Police say the child was rushed to the UVM Medical Center but despite lifesaving measures, the child later died. Police did not comment on what led to the death. The Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations was called in to take over the investigation as they specialize in incidents of this nature. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner and the Chittenden County State’s Attorney’s office are also part of the death investigation.
