The Orleans County States Attorneys Office announced Thursday

The Orleans County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that on October 14, 2024, Anna Sylvester 34, was sentenced to four to nine years, all suspended except for 30 months to serve at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility. Sylvester was remanded into custody after the sentencing hearing. Sylvester was found guilty of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. The jury trial was held at Orleans County Superior Court in Newport. The jury unanimously found the defendant guilty, a felony. Upon release after completing the 30 months to serve a portion of her sentence, Sylvester will be subject to supervision and extensive conditions, including electronic monitoring, restrictions on her online and in-person contact with persons under the age of 18, disclosure of her status as a sex offender, and completion of various treatment programs. She will also be added to the state’s Sex Offender Registry.
