A southern Vermont business owner pleaded not guilty on Monday to multiple charges after being accused of threatening college students.  State Police say it happened early Saturday morning in Putney. Troopers say a group of Landmark College students were approached by Zachary Goldberg, 42, of Putney, who owns the Mockingbird Tavern. He told police he confronted the students after he got calls about them causing a disturbance outside his bar. Goldberg is accused of pointing a gun at the group of students during the altercation, but he says he didn’t point it and only grabbed the gun for self-defense. He’s also accused of using abusive and hateful language, charges he denies.
