The wife of a man accused of shooting police Capt. Jason Gray is facing a felony cocaine charge

The wife of a man accused of shooting police Capt. Jason Gray is facing a felony cocaine charge, following a search of the Portland Street residence where the shooting took place. Patrice Mason, 36, was cited on Tuesday for the charge by a member of the South Burlington Police Dept, since Mason is currently being held at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail. She is accused of aiding her husband, Scott Mason, in his alleged attempted murder of Capt. Gray inside the Masons’ residence on Dec. 13. Scott Mason is accused of attempted murder in the shooting of the veteran police captain. Police found cocaine in the Portland St. residence on Jan. 23, which was two days after Judge Michael Kainen ordered the $10,000 bail that led to Patrice Mason going to jail. Officers discovered nearly nine grams of cocaine inside the residence, more than three and a half times the 2.5-gram threshold for the possession to be a felony.
