50,000 Pound Granite Chunk Retrieved in Irasburg Following Truck Overturn

 A 50,000 pound chunk of granite was recovered in Irasburg from a tractor trailer truck that overturned last week. The crash happened on Wednesday when officials say a truck driver from Quebec lost control and overturned on Rte. 58.

Crews recovered a chunk of granite Friday from the intersection of Guyette Rd. and Lake Region Rd. The slab was halfway below ground when crews dug it up and lifted it. The DMV says the tractor trailer was significantly damaged but the driver was not hurt.
