Sheffield Driver Uninjured After Rollover Crash Caused by Falling Asleep at Wheel
A man from Sheffield, who fell asleep while driving on Thursday, avoided injury when the vehicle he was driving struck mailboxes and a utility pole before rolling over. Leo Martin, 20, on Main Street near the intersection with Shadow Lake Road about 5 a.m., when he fell asleep at the wheel. Martin’s vehicle drifted off the roadway, struck two concrete mailboxes and a utility pole before coming to a final position of uncontrolled rest upside down. The pole was destroyed and utility lines were down. Emergency service crews were needed to extricate Martin from the vehicle, but he reported no injuries. The vehicle was totalled.
