Swanton Man Fatally Shot in Torso Suspect Mitchal Shedrick Charged with Second Degree Murder

Police say the victim of a Swanton homicide, Joshua Manny, was shot in the torso, an autopsy revealed Sunday. According to police, the incident happened around 3:15 Saturday morning, when they received multiple 911 calls from a house on 4th St. in Swanton Village. They found 37-year-old Joshua Manny of Swanton dead inside a home. Police later arrested 52-year-old Mitchal Shedrick, and charged him with second-degree murder. Several people in the surrounding community say they are not surprised the murder happened on their street, and that the house has been a problem in the neighborhood for many years. Shedrick is being held without bail, and is set to appear in court this afternoon.
