Lyndon Woman Accused of Threatening Rehab Staff with Hammer Referred to Diversion Program

Vermont State Police say a Lyndon woman holding a hammer threatened multiple employees at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab on Thursday evening.  Ce’Keria Mitchell, 19, is facing charges of aggravated assault, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct for her alleged behavior. Responding troopers to the facility on Hospital Drive, following an emergency call at 6:20 p.m., Thursday, did not find Mitchell there. Trooper Riley Fenoff reported that she was found soon after in the area. The alleged victims in the case are Lee Davis, 60, of Lyndon, and Billie-Jo Garfield, 51, of Concord. Mitchell was given a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court on Friday, but the arraignment never took place because she was offered a referral to the Diversion program. Should she complete requirements of the program, the charge will not be prosecuted.
