Vermont State Parks Open for Season Offering Camping Beaches and Outdoor Recreation Through Fall
State parks in Vermont opened for the season on Monday. Vermont manages 55 parks that offer opportunities for residents and visitors to get outside and conserve the state’s natural resources. The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation says the parks are a vital contributor to the state’s $3 billion tourism industry, and include nearly 40 campgrounds and almost 30 beaches. The parks are open until Labor Day or the second Monday of October, depending on the location. Last year, the state parks program celebrated 100 years.
