Unresponsive Juveniles Airlifted, Expected To Recover After Head-On Dirt Bikes Crash

LITTLETON — Two juveniles who were transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after they collided into each other while riding dirt bikes and were rendered unresponsive on Tuesday afternoon — leading to life-saving measures undertaken by first responders — are expected to recover, Littleton Fire Rescue officials said Wednesday.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., Littleton police officers, Littleton Fire Rescue personnel, and conservation officers from New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to the scene on private property off of Slate Ledge Road.

Two ambulances were called while LFR Lt. Paul Piscitelli requested a general alarm to bring in off-duty full-time and call firefighter/EMTs.

Firefighters arrived to find the two juveniles with serious injuries and immediately began advanced life support emergency medical care.

LFR deputy chief Tommy Hartwell requested two RED trauma alerts at Littleton Regional Healthcare and an air medical response.

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) was dispatched to assist.

Both juveniles received stabilizing treatment at LRH and were transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, one by helicopter and the other by ground ambulance.
