Vermont Gov. Phil Scott will ride 93 miles to inaugurate the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail on July 15. Senator Bernie Sanders, key in obtaining funding for the trail from Swanton to St. Johnsbury, will also appear during the event. The trail, now New England’s longest, has been in development since the mid-2000s. Scott will commence the journey in Swanton, with an expected main event in Morrisville.
