A woman was taken to an area hospital
NASHUA, N.H. – A woman was taken to an area hospital after the pickup she was driving crashed into the Merrimack River. Just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, N.H. State Troopers responded to a crash on Circumferential Highway in Nashua, where a vehicle was reported to have been in the river. Troopers determined a 2014 GMC Sierra pickup truck was involved in a collision with another vehicle while changing lanes, then struck a guardrail on the left side of Circumferential Highway westbound. The pickup continued over the guardrail and rolled down an embankment in the median, between the two sides of the highway, before entering the Merrimack River where it stopped right-side up. The driver of the pickup, Danielle Melanson, 30, of Merrimack, N.H. was able to get out of the truck on her own while the vehicle was partially submerged. She was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a state police report.
