An arrest was made Tuesday in connection with a Christmas Day burglary

An arrest was made Tuesday in connection with a Christmas Day burglary at the Jay Village Inn on Route 242. Victor Velez, 41, of St. Albans was due in Orleans Superior Court, Criminal Division on Thursday after being taken into custody by St. Albans police. He was transferred to the Vermont State Police Derby barracks, and later jailed at Northern State Correctional Facility on a charge of burglary with a $10,000 bail. Another suspect in this case is at large. The case started when, on Dec. 25 about 9:58 a.m., police reported a male and a female entered the inn, breaking through two doors and gaining access to the closed bar and storage area. Once inside, the cashier box and countless bottles of liquor were stolen. The other suspect has been identified as Olivia Pelletier, 27, of Enosburg Falls. She is also the subject of two unrelated arrest warrants for larceny and burglary. Investigation suggests she has been in both Franklin and Chittenden County. Anyone with knowledge of her location is asked to contact Vermont State Police.
