Cabot School Board Selects New Principal
The Cabot School Board has named its next principal following the termination of the prior principal two weeks ago, just prior to the start of the school year.
During a special meeting of the board held Aug. 14, the school board members voted to terminate the contract for Darin Carney as principal of the school following an executive session.
Caledonia Central Superintendent Matt Foster had no comment on the termination of Carney and indicated that the termination meant no further compensation would be paid under his contract.
On Friday the board named the new principal is Paul Grimaud, a longtime educator who has been a classroom teacher, instructional coach, department head, assistant principal and principal most recently at an American school in the United Arab Emirates. Grimaud has family in the northeast, earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University, a master’s in elementary education from University of Bridgeport and a certificate of educational leadership and management from University of Management.
