Occupant of a Brush Street residence in Hardwick died in a fire
Hardwick Police reported that an occupant of a Brush Street residence in Hardwick died in a fire there on Tuesday. Police did not provide the name of the deceased individual, stating that positive identification by the Chief Medical Examiner and contact with next of kin needed to happen. The fire was reported at 41 Brush St. about 5:30 p.m. Police, the Hardwick Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to the emergency. Firefighters encountered a full-involved structure fire when they arrived. Greensboro and Woodbury firefighters arrived to help extinguish the blaze. Once firefighters were able to enter the structure they found the deceased occupant. The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit and the Vermont Division of Fire Safety.
