Police in New York arrested a Vermont woman who they say abandoned 10 puppies with no food or water. State police say Rebecca Beaupre, 24, of Milton, was arrested on Sept. 14 in Hartford, New York. Investigators say in July, Beaupre took the less than 4-week-old puppies from their mother without the owner’s permission or knowledge and then left them in kennels outside a home in Whitehall with no food or water. Police found the owner of the dogs and returned them. Beaupre is charged with 10 counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals.
