The community is coming together to support the St. Johnsbury police officer who was shot while responding to a domestic violence call on Friday, Dec. 13. Gray remains hospitalized at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he is reported to be in stable condition. LSGI aims to raise $25,000 to help Gray and his family during his recovery. As of yesterday afternoon, over $14,000 had already been donated. Thankfully, Captain Gray is expected to recover. Cari Carlet, co-founder of The non-profit organization Locally Social Gives, Inc, said the fundraiser aligns with the organization’s mission. Formed in 2022, Locally Social Gives previously played a pivotal role in helping victims of catastrophic storms on July 10 and 30th. The volunteer organization donated over $160,000 to more than 100 households in 22 communities across Caledonia, Essex and Orleans Counties.
