The trial of two members of the alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy in Danville will begin in the fall. Serhat Gumrukcu of Los Angeles and Berk Eratay of Nevada will begin their trial in Rutland, and a jury draw is set for Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. The jury trial will commence immediately after the jury draw, and the trial will continue through Friday, Oct. 11, according to court documents. Chief Federal Judge Geoffrey W. Crawford will be on the bench. Gumrukcu and Eratay are set for a status conference on Feb. 20. Gumrukcu and Eratay pleaded not guilty in federal court, which alleges that they paid alleged hitman Jerry Banks to travel to Vermont and kidnap Danville resident Greg Davis at his home located at 884 Hawkins Road. Davis, 49, was found hand-cuffed and dead from multiple gunshot wounds near 1648 Peacham Road in Barnet at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018.
