Vermont State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man they believe is responsible for stabbing someone in Groton on Monday. Brandon Lackie, 26, of Groton, is suspected of stabbing John Faucette, 39, of Groton. About 8:35 p.m. on Monday at a residence on Tinkham Road, for unknown reasons, Lackey stabbed Faucette multiple times in the back. Lackie then reportedly fled the scene by stealing Faucette’s truck. Faucette called state police and was later taken by ambulance to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Faucette is in stable condition. State Police reported they found the stolen truck in Ryegate but are still looking for Lackie. He is white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He is balding and the hair he has is brown. He is known to have a full beard. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored coat with graphics and writing. Another recent police encounter with Lackie happened on a Connecticut River bridge. State police from New Hampshire and Vermont responded to the bridge between Barnet and Monroe, N.H. on Oct. 3 after it was reported that a naked man was jumping on vehicles crossing the bridge. The man was determined to be Lackie. New Hampshire State Police took him into custody that day.
