Whitefield Police Chief Ed Samson III is resigning
WHITEFIELD — Whitefield Police Chief Ed Samson III is resigning.Samson, 44, was hired as a sergeant in 2008 and was promoted to chief in 2012. His resignation takes effect Jan. 17. Samson will leave to accept a position as a risk management consultant with the New Hampshire Public Risk Management Exchange (Primex). Samson said the new position will allow him, his wife Kelli, and their two teenage sons to remain in the North Country. Samson is also vested in the state retirement system and can begin collecting next year when he turns 45. He said that by retiring from the police force now, he was young enough to begin a second career.
