Governor Scott Joins Northeast Leaders in Urging Canada Talks on Tariffs Amid Rising Costs
Vermont Governor Phil Scott is among a group of Northeast governors inviting Canadian leaders to meet in person to talk tariffs. In a letter on Monday, the group said they want to preserve their relationship with Canada amid President Trump’s tariffs, which they say makes life increasingly more expensive for people and businesses. The governors of New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, and Rhode Island also signed the letter. Gov. Scott is the only Republican in the group. A specific date for the Boston summit was not provided.
