VT, NH, NY are part of a multi-state settlement with an advertising firm
Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York are part of a multi-state settlement with an advertising firm responsible for marketing addictive opioids. It’s part of a national settlement for $350 million with ad firm, Publicis. The Vermont Attorney General’s Office says the company was instrumental in Purdue Pharma’s decision to market Oxycontin to health care providers. Vermont will get $1 million from the settlement. New Hampshire will get $2 million. And New York will receive $19 million. Attorney General Charity Clark says the settlement is the right step toward holding those responsible for the opioid crisis accountable. She says the money will go into the state’s opioid settlement fund.
