Police were dispatched to the area of Route 145 in Hardwick
On Nov. 19, of last year, at approximately 10:50 p.m, police were dispatched to the area of Route 145 in Hardwick, for single vehicle crash with injuries. Hardwick Police Ofc. Steven Mitchell wrote in his report. “Upon arrival, I observed a red 2016 Volkswagen just off the roadway in Cooper Brook facing north.” “The roadway was completely snow covered, and the snow was still coming down…I observed the rear of the car partially under water.” Two occupants were standing outside the vehicle. One – a female was leaned up against the bank, and in pain. The male on scene was later identified as Collin Parrow. Parrow said that he was not driving the car and “the kid that was driving ran away.” Parrow had been drinking and that’s why he had someone else drive his car, according to police. Parrow sustained minor cuts and bruising from the crash. The female said that her leg was maybe broken and she couldn’t move her neck and was in a lot of pain. Dominic Bell, 23, of East Montpelier, has been charged with a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of a crash and a felony charge of vehicle operation-gross negligence with serious injury. Bell appeared in Caledonia Superior Court and plead not guilty. He was released on conditions by Judge Robert R. Bent.
