Canaan Man Arrested After Alleged Hammer Attack in Lebanon
A New Hampshire man has been arrested after an alleged hammer attack in the Upper Valley. Police in Lebanon say the incident occurred Sunday around 4:30 p.m. near the emergency winter shelter on Mechanic Street. Three men were reportedly fighting, when Shawn Mooney, 37, of Canaan, New Hampshire, struck one man in the head with a hammer. A second victim was also injured after Mooney allegedly attempted to gouge his eyes out. One of the victims was taken to the hospital for treatment. Mooney, who was already out on bail, has been arrested again on multiple charges, including second-degree assault.
