Driver Arrested After Going 142 MPH in 55 Zone on Route 279 in Bennington

Bennington Police say they stopped a driver going 142 mph. It happened Friday around 4:13 p.m. on Route 279. They say Dylan Durand, 23, of Hoosick Falls, New York, was going 142 mph in a posted 55 mph area — 87 over the limit. Durand was arrested and charged with gross negligent operation and excessive speed. He was scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court-Bennington on Monday.
