Kayla Cowdrey was picked-up on an arrest warrant due to charges filed against her
Kayla Cowdrey was picked-up on an arrest warrant due to charges filed against her in 2019. Cowdrey, 32, of Northumberland, N.H., pleaded not guilty in Caledonia Superior Court on Thursday to a misdemeanor charge of possession of heroin. Cowdrey’s defense attorney, Laura Wilson of Lyndonville, explained to the court “The reason that Miss Cowdrey has missed hearings on these other charges and didn’t show up for arraignment is that she was incarcerated in Massachusetts.” “She was released from jail in early 2021… then went to jail in Rhode Island and was not released from jail in Rhode Island until late November of 2022.” According to court documents, Cowdrey was accused in 2019 of taking a syringe of heroin from a room at the Republican Block Apartments in St. Johnsbury during a drug overdose.
