June 2023 has marked the snowiest June in 91 years atop Mount Washington, a New Hampshire mountain known for its extreme weather. The mountain received 8.4 inches of snowfall, although nearly all of it had melted by early Monday due to warmer weather. A quasi-stationary low caused snowfall early every day, and the observatory anticipates the total could grow further due to another approaching low and cold air. Mount Washington Observatory, situated at the Northeast’s highest peak of 6,288 feet, mentioned that the last snowfall typically happens in early to mid-June. However, this year has been an exception with record-breaking snowfall.
