Following a May 18 crash in Lowell, Seth Pierce has been charged with negligent operation
Following a May 18 crash in Lowell in which Shayne Bessette, 52, was killed, 20-year-old Seth Pierce has been charged with negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident. Investigators believe that Pierce, driving a Toyota Tundra, was overtaking Bessette’s Ford Ranger when they collided. The impact caused Bessette’s vehicle to roll off the road, resulting in fatal injuries. Pierce allegedly failed to stop or report the incident. Eventually, he turned himself in and was processed at the Derby barracks. He was released with a $10,000 unsecured appearance bond and is expected to appear in Orleans County Superior Court. The charges came as a result of an investigation helped by the community, identifying a second vehicle involved in the collision.
