A tractor-trailer carrying six vehicles rolled to its side off the southbound lane
A tractor-trailer carrying six vehicles rolled to its side off the southbound lane of I93 on Friday morning. The driver of the tractor-trailor unit, Jerry Leonard, 47, of Lyndonville, was not hurt. He said he lost control of the tractor-trailer while swerving to avoid a deer. The tractor and trailer left the road on the passing lane and toppled over in the interstate median. Leonard was able to free himself from the wreck by pushing himself up through the passenger side door. Leonard, driving for the Autosaver Group, had started his journey Friday morning in St. Johnsbury and was taking the cargo to Dighton, Mass. Initially, both lanes of travel were stopped, but within 20 minutes the travel lane of the interstate was opened to passing motorists. The clean-up lasted throughout the morning and required multiple wreckers. DMV Inspector Justin Lindor said the crash is still under investigation.
