Martys 1st Stop, now in its 35th year, may double in size

Marty’s 1st Stop, now in its 35th year, may double in size. Plans call for expanding the existing grocery store with completion by December 2025. The Marty’s corporation, has applied for a conditional use permit and is seeking a waiver with the town’s Development Review Board. The public hearing set to discuss the plans is at the Danville Town Hall on April 3 at 5:30 p.m. The project will require a waiver because existing bylaws limit a grocery store’s footprint to 15,000 sq. ft. The DRB can grant a waiver under certain criteria. Among those criteria are, not altering the general character of the area, not impeding adjacent property, not being detrimental to the environment, and not causing a public safety issue. They believe their project meets all criteria for a waiver.
