A Vermont-based contractor that makes eyewear

A Vermont-based contractor that makes eyewear for the U.S. military has been ordered to pay almost half a million dollars to resolve allegations that it lied about where its products were sourced. Federal authorities say Revision Military falsely made claims that its eyewear products were sourced entirely in the U.S. when in fact some carrying pouches, cases, and/or straps, used a non-domestic source, a violation of the False Claims Act. To resolve those allegations, the U.S. Attorney for Vermont Nikolas Kerest says the Essex Junction company will pay a $436,000 settlement. He says it is the latest of three investigations in the past two years into procurement fraud in Department of Defense contracts.
